Juicing for a Total Cleanse – Master Bright Fresh Morning Drinks

Most people have heard of the many great benefits of taking freshly made juices as part of their diet, but don't know which fruits and vegetables will go well together.

The following easy recipes offer a good place to start as one begins to explore all the wonderful possibilities in juicing.

These simple recipes, while perfect for including in a juice fast, are also good for augmenting the every-day diet; making it a snap to get the full quota of fresh fruit and vegetable servings every day. They offer a quick pick-me-up during the day, and are bursting full of nutrients. Additionally, the living enzymes they contain provide extra special benefits that quite simply do not exist in pasteurized, canned or cooked foods.

Note: When juicing fruits and vegetables, always try to obtain organic varieties. If one uses organics, most skins can be left on, thereby increasing the nutritional value of the juice.

Juicing it Up for a Savory Lunchtime Treat

Ingredients:

  • ½ medium apple (Tart apples are good in this recipe, but sweet apples work well, too)
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 1 celery rib with leaves
  • ½ small – medium beet

To prepare:

  1. Thoroughly wash all produce.
  2. Cut up the apple and trim carrots as necessary.
  3. Juice the apple.
  4. Roll the spinach and parsley into a bunch, and process this using the carrots to help push the leafy greens through.
  5. Finish by juicing the remaining ingredients.
  6. Stir and serve.

Suggestions: Some people don’t care for the small amount of foam that sometimes results from juicing. Usually, a quick stir of the fresh juice will cause this to disappear. Alternatively, using a sieve to strain the juice into a drinking glass will eliminate any foam, as well.

All of the above juices are high in vitamins, minerals, live enzymes, antioxidants, and bioflavinoids. The beets (which are good for the liver), lemon, carrot, celery, parsley and apple are especially cleansing. The lemon and parsley also are good diuretics, which help to eliminate excess fluid retention.

How to Find a Good Home Juicer

People who are in the market for a good home juicer might begin by looking into the dependable lines made by Champion, Omega, and Jack LaLanne. Each has its own advantages and they are available in a good range of prices.
